Match Comment:
Obaefemi Martins said:
"I
feel really, really sorry for our fans. It was disappointing for all of
us, but especially me after having some good chances. The fans wanted us
to win this cup. They tried everything to help us to win but we couldn't
do it for them. We wanted to go far in this cup and we felt we could
beat Arsenal but it wasn't to be and I feel very sad today.
I feel very unlucky. With my first chance the keeper had to pull off a
good save. I had a second chance to score but the chance after Arsenal
scored upset me most. I heard the fans celebrating and I really thought
the ball was going in.
As a striker I have to accept it wasn't my day, it was hard luck. It's
over now so I have to focus on the next game." |

Match Report: |

Our carling Cup campaign came to an early
end at the Emirates Stadium. A young Arsenal side scored two late goals
to beat us 2-0.
Arsenal dominated the game and were deserved winners but we did
create a few chances ourselves. Obaefmi Martins forced a brilliant save
out of Fabianski in the first half and minutes after Arsenal's first
goal, Martins again had a great chance. He rounded the keeper and looked
certain to score but a nonshalant allowed Senderos time to get back and
clear the ball off the line.
So to quote www.nufc.com
"Same
old League Cup, always losing."
