  Newcastle manager Glenn Roeder:
"What you won't get me to do is criticise Jean-Alain Boumsong publicly. I was a player once and any manager or coach who criticised me after a bad mistake wasn't a good manager. I will sit down with Boumsong and go through the goals and share my view of where he could have done better."

  Match Report:

Our 2nd defeat under Glenn Roeder as Liverpool won easily 1v3 at St James' Park on Sunday lunch time(GMT).

Some poor marking by our defence gave Peter Crouch a headed goal after 10 mins and a well worked Steve Gerrard goal after 35mins meant we made life very hard for ourselves by giving the opposition a 2 goal head start for second time in a week. However we given some hope by a well taken Shola Ameobi header 4 minutes before half time but things could have been so much better if Jean-Alain Boumsong, who missed a free header from 6 yards out at the stroke of half time, had scored.

However a shocking mistake by Boumsong which cost us a penalty and his place on the pitch after 6 minutes into the second half effectively meant the game was over.
